About us

The Valhalla Solidarity group was started at the beginning of lockdown by the residents of Valhalla to aid the residents of Valhalla who are struggling due to not being able to work during the lockdown.

At this point we aren't a registered organisation. Residents mainly give gifts in kind, such as groceries, which volunteers distribute to those in need.

Services that we offer:

1) Groceries
Our aim is to keep people from going hungry, not to provide everything that people had while they were working. If we have those luxuries donated to us we will happily pass them on to those in need. We make food hampers from the donated groceries, which we distribute.
Cooked meals are being prepared for the elderly by one lady at the moment.

2) Transport
At this time not everyone can get themselves to the shops, doctor, or hospital.
We have volunteers who will help get those who don't have their own transport to where they need to go.

3) Call someone who is lonely
Many people live on their own and would appreciate a call and a chat. Loneliness can be terrible and one phone call can go a long way to make a difference to someone.

4) Medical emergency
The Valhalla Solidarity Group is in touch with a medical emergency group that will help in the Valhalla area when necessary
